Getting Started

An outline of information you should collect prior to starting the design process

  1. Have you selected a building site or have an address for the project?

  2. In what municipality/city is your project located?

  3. Do you have a list of requirements (program) for the project? If not, follow this link for an example program and fill out the questionnaires from the FORMS page. We will help develop the requirements for the project.

  4. What is your budget for the project?

  5. When do you want to start construction? Do you have a rental house or will you plan on living in the house during construction (remodels only)?

  6. Do you have a current survey?

  7. Is the house located in a Historic District?

  8. For remodels, do you have current plans?

  9. Do you have a pre-selected General Contractor, or a list of General Contractors you are interested in working with?

  10. Do you have any inspiration images that will help us identify the architectural style you like?

  11. Do you have an Interior Designer you plan to work with on the project?

  12. For new construction or additions, do you have a geotechnical report (soils report), or would you like our help getting that report?
